You can probably find some info about Crumm Castle somewhere on the internet or in books. DW
donnamac I believe that I read somewhere, that there is a castle which was brought to the U.S., stone by stone and rebuilt. Has anyone heard of this? And if so, where is it?
duncan There is in Arizona, USA , a rather large castle brought over by the same man who purchased one of Londons bridges slated for distruction. He had both rebuilt. The bridge had at one time its own short water way. He has sence died, the site is now owned by the state.I've heard of several more in the eastern part of the US, but have not been to them. On the web is a site called castles of the USA. You might try them.
DreamWarrior There is a castle in Wichita, KS that was supposed to have been brought over from france, stone by stone, but it seems that was a big rumor. The castle is called Crumm Castle (correct spelling), and according to the people in the area that claim to know what they are talking about, Crumm is a replica of a French castle, but was built out of locally mined limestone. I can verify that it is limestone, because I have seen it, but I can't tell you for sure where it was mined.
